The date given in the colophon is impossible to interpret; it may indicate 15 June, though the Ides are on the 13th in June.
Badius’s letter to Petit (‘Ioanni Paruo compatri suo & bibliopole optimo’) is dated ‘vi. Cal. Iul. 1503’ (26 June) and mentions the dedication of the ‘Parthenia Tertia’ to Petit’s wife Marguerite [Guymier?]; ‘compater’ probably means ‘close friend and neighbour’, as French ‘compère’.
