[Equivoca.]
Multorum vocabulorum equiuocorum interpretatio Magistri Iohannis de garlandia.
[Paris]: [Colophon:] Ioannes antonius venetus bibliopola Parisiensis suis impensis imprimi fecit [pr. by Joannes Antonius for J. Philippi, P. Levet, and F. d’Egmont in London?], idibus nouembris .M.ccccc.ij. In suburbijs sancti Germani [1502].
4°: a⁸ b–i⁶ k⁸.
Printed in Paris by Joannes Antonius for Jean Philippi, Pierre Levet and for Frédéric d'Egmont in London.
Attributed to Levet by Imprimeurs parisiens from the address ‘in suburbijs sancti Germani’ which Renouard gives as the address of Levet in association with Barbier and Foucher at this date; Levet during the last years of his career seems to have worked in partnership with other tradesmen who did his printing (e.g. Cousturier and Hardouyn in 1499 and 1500, and Barbier in 1503); the 83Rot is not the same face as Levet’s 81G (BMC viii, plate XIII).
The types match J. Philippi and it is assumed that the book is printed for Levet using Philippi’s materials.
The preliminary letter names Antonius as the printer. It is addressed to ‘adolescentibus studiosis in anglia’ and mentions Frédéric d’Egmont for whom the book may have been printed.
Signature pattern: ‘$’–‘$iij’.
Catchword pattern: none.
Types: Rot47 (83mm); Rot69 (64mm).
Initials: none.
Lombards: 10.0.
