Jean de Gourmont
1506-1522

Imprimeur, libraire

The brothers Gourmont, and especially Jean and Gilles, seem to have worked in a loose partnership. A colophon in 1508 gives Robert and Jean as printers; another of the same date has in gormuntiana calcographia.

Editors and press correctors working for Jean de Gourmont include Nicolas Du Puys ‘Bonaspes’ (1507-1508), Geoffroy Tory (1508), Girolamo Aleandro (1511-1512), Celse Hugues Descousu (1511), François Vatable (1512), Rémy Roussel (1517), Pierre Danès (c. 1518).

Inventaire chronologique, t. iii, 1521, no. 58 notes the use of a new version of 78R, 80Gk and a new title-page border (not in Renouard) from mid-1521.
