In a preliminary letter to Antoine Aussourd, dated ‘Lutetie, Nonis Quintilibus. M.D.X.I.X.’ (7 July 1519), Pierre Danès states that he prepared the edition using a 300-year-old manuscript in the library of the collège de Lisieux.
Imprimeurs parisiens and Inventaire chronologique wrongly interpret the colophon date as 7 July, instead of 24 June.
The title-page compartment Renouard 233 is stated to belong to N. Des Prez, who is not however named in the imprint or colophons.
