The colophon of vol. 1 gives the date of an earlier incunable edition (Macfarlane no. 35, 1 July 1494); the colophon of vol. 3 gives ‘deuant la rue neufue nre dame a lymage saint iehan leuangeliste’, the address to which Verard moved in 1503.
Damage to Verard’s device suggests a date slightly later than 1503.
