Pierre Vidoue
1516–1543

Imprimeur, libraire-juré (1523, in succession to Pierre Viart).

Vidoue styled himself ‘master of arts’; it is not clear which university he attended. He was succeeded by his widow, Jeanne Garreau (1544–1545) who then married the bookseller Estienne des Hayes. Renouard wrongly dates the start of his career to 1510, as a result of an undated book cited by La Caille which was in fact printed c. 1518 (IS000119).

Addresses
1516 In parvo Ponte, in intersignio Cathedrae (on the Petit-Pont, at the sign of the Chair).
1519, 1528 ‘Rue perdue e regione de la place Maubert’.
1531–1543 E regione collegii Remensis; ‘au mont Sainct Hilaire devant le collège de Reims’.
