Badius’s preliminary letter mentions the theft of the manuscript from the editor, Rémy Roussel.
Badius’s letter states that the privilege is too long to print and can be consulted at Badius’s house: ‘Priuilegii forma, cuius prolixior est explicatio, apud Badium est: qui omnibus iure petentibus eius vidende faciet potestatem’; the privilege was issued by the Parlement on 16 January 1516 for two years (Imprimeurs parisiens).

Some copies have the device of J. Petit (Renouard 887).
